Many of the photos we take end up in a digital black hole, never to be seen again. My aim with this series is to surface images that unlock memories for me. They take me back, sometimes with a smile, others with a question or a brief moment of sadness. If you find yourself curious about any of the images in the series, wondering what led up to them, email me. Test my memory.

I aim to improve my Chinese reading through regular practice. This series is an experiment where I aim to record myself reading Chinese for fourteen days. I don’t intend for these to be consecutive days and will stop and evaluate once I’ve reached the end of the experiment. In order to keep the emphasis on the reading and not on the production quality, the only editing I intend to do is to trim the start and end of each clip.

I’ve been very happy with the coffee that I’ve been sent. For me, variety is more important than finding one good coffee and sticking to it. Consequently I’ve never taken the time to figure out whether there are some coffees that I enjoy more than others.

I was fortunate enough to be able to spend Christmas 2023 with my family in China. I didn’t realise it when we booked the trip, but our travels coincided with my 17th aniversary of traveling to China. The series of posts below provide a glimpse into how I see (and hear) the city.
